RS Coyotes shut out Cardinals

In the first official game of the season, the Coyotes triumphed over the High Island Cardinals with a final score of 50-0.

The Coyote Offense brought about 307 total yards during the game with Billy Perry contributing 118 yards rushing with three touchdowns. Rush Norris also claimed 51 of those yards while his sophomore classmate, Clayton Meador, generated 47 yards with one touchdown. Troy Shelton added a 36-yard touchdown scamper, and Gage Behrens scored another touchdown with a 7-yard run.

Troy Shelton also completed 2 out of 3 passes resulting in 22 total yards, 17 of which went to Kenny Triplett, and the remaining 5 to Hutton Rogers.

The Coyote Defense held the Cardinals, Rush Norris leading the way with 4 tackles, followed by Kenny Triplett and Billy Perry with three tackles each. Additionally, Behrens recovered a fumble, Hutton Rogers had an interception, and Hudson Tharp completed an impressive backfield tackle.

Next week, the Coyotes will host the Olfen Mustangs, with a junior high game at 5:30 and varsity at 7:00.
