The State Executive Committee of the University Interscholastic League convened at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, October 6, via teleconference to determine the eligibility of student-athletes and discuss potential rules violations.

After the meeting, the State Executive Committee of the University Interscholastic League announced the following decision:
Richland Springs High School Assistant Football Coach Mike Watkins was issued a suspension for the entirety of the 2025 football season, two years probation to begin at the start of the 2026-27 academic year, and a public reprimand.
I reached out to Richland Springs ISD Monday afternoon, specifically to the Superintendent Bobby Fryar for comment. His response was, ' Yes, I am aware of the decision, and I don’t really have much more to add at this time.'
