Just like the rest of the state, we are deep into testing season. However, by the time you are reading this, we should be DONE for the year with state testing.
Things are still rolling around here despite the completion of these exams. This week, our seniors and Pre-K through second grade students will be going on field trips. Our 3rd through 5th graders are working hard on their end-of-the-year project: The Economics Fair. For this project, students are tasked with creating an original product of some kind. They are learning about meeting deadlines, chunking large assignments, planning ahead, and managing time. They most recently have been learning about persuasive techniques in advertising and are using those methods to create advertisement posters for their product. They will be starting on business cards this week, so be on the lookout. You might receive a card from a young entrepreneur! The fair will be held on May 19th from 8:3010:30 a.m., and all are welcome to come and shop. We are excited to see it all come together. These students have been working hard!
In other news, the state track meet is this weekend. Senior, Jeremiah Wakefield will be competing in the 100 meter dash as well as the 200 meter dash. Good luck! Progress reports come home next week. The Baptist church is hosting an ice cream social for seniors on Sunday, May 4th. The Masonic Lodge banquet will be on May 8th. The athletic banquet will be on May 13th. Rotary banquet is May 15th. Lots going on!
We hope you all have a great week!
