It’s another cold week here in the hill country as Cherokee ISD rolls through the 3rd week of the second semester. In basketball news, the junior high girls’ basketball team won the Consolation Championship at the Zephyr Tournament over the weekend. The varsity girls beat Lometa, and the boys did as well with a buzzer beater three pointer. Congratulations to these teams.
Our booster club is having a fundraiser meal at the school on Sunday at noon. Pulled pork sandwiches will be served, drive-through style. These funds are going toward a field event practice area for our pole vaulters and jumpers to use during track season. In addition, we are hoping to build a high jump practice area. Come out and support our booster club and Cherokee Track and Field!
Progress reports go out next week, so be on the lookout for those. This is a great checkpoint for you and your student. Don’t hesitate to reach out to teachers for tips on how to help your student achieve their goals! Also, you can keep up with grades more often that every three weeks if you sign up for the parent portal. You can even set it up to alert you when your student gets a grade under a certain level. Just see the office staff for instructions on how to set this up.
Have a great week, and stay warm!
