Last week, the 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders went on a field trip to the Austin Symphony Young People’s Concert. Our students were impressed with the size of the theater as well as the talent of the musicians. Some of the pieces were familiar and some were brand new. The conductor would give some information about the composer and the musical influences used in the piece. They also showcased which unique instruments the students would hear in each piece. It was informative and entertaining. They picnicked at Zilker Park and enjoyed the playground for a bit before heading home.
This week marks the mid cycle for the 5th six weeks. Progress reports will go home after Spring Break. Spring Break will begin March 8th and will continue through the 18th. We will resume school on Tuesday, the 19th and will have school that Friday, the 22nd. Please take note of this since we typically do not have school on Fridays.
