It was a busy week for our elementary students. Our pre-K-2nd graders along with the elementary and junior high GT students visited the nursing home in San Saba to spread a little Valentine's Day love. They made signs, sang songs, and delivered cards, gifts, and cookies to the residents. This was made possible with the help of Cherokee Baptist Church and the culinary arts class. We are so grateful for the ways our community bands together to do good things.

Later in the week, we had a couple of special visitors. Sheriff Jenkins, Officer Merriman, and K-9 Officer Andor came to read a book called I Am Abel about a K-9 officer. They also gave us interesting information about this service and even allowed some petting! Thank you to these officers for taking time out of their schedule to spend with our children.

Cherokee Lady Indians are Area Champs defeating Blum 31-28. Regional Quarterfinals will be Tuesday, February 20, 2024, against Gorman in Brownwood at 6:30 p.m. Our boys will play in the Bi-District championship this Monday.

Report cards go out at the end of this week, so be on the lookout for those. Please stay in the know regarding your child's grades.

We were scheduled to have a PTC meeting this week, but with the basketball games, we had to postpone. Hopefully we will be able to meet on the 26th. If that changes, we will let interested parties know.

Have a great week!
