Last week, our Indians took on the Brookesmith Mustangs. Junior high played in Brookesmith and fought hard for a 47-42 victory. Varsity played at home and despite heavy rain and lightning delays, they came away with a decisive win of 68-0 at halftime. Our Cherokee Cowboys flag football team won their championship game as well. Congratulations to our guys!

As our boys are finishing up their regular season of football, the girls are starting basketball season. The Lady Indians open their Basketball Season at home Tuesday, November 7th, against Panther Creek. The game will start at 5:00 p.m.

We held our annual Fall Festival this past Saturday. This event is fun for our community, but it is also a fundraiser for our PTC. Cherokee PTC supports our school in so many ways. They provide money to teachers to spend in their classrooms. They purchase shirts for elementary students to wear to field trips, field day, etc. They host our Independence Day celebrations. They do it all, and we are so grateful! Thanks to everyone who worked the event as well as those who played games, purchased meals, and won silent auction items. We can’t do it without each and every one of you.

On November 9th, we will have a Veteran’s Day celebration. There will be a breakfast at 7:45 a.m. and a program at 8:10 a.m. All current military and military veterans are welcome.

Have a great week!
