It was a great week of football here at Cherokee ISD. The Indians took on the Evant Elks. The Junior High played here on Thursday night. The Indians stayed ahead of the Elks in the first quarter, not allowing any touchdowns. The score was 28-0. The hefty lead was maintained in the second quarter even though the Elks scored a few points of their own. The score at the half was 54-21. We sealed the deal early in the third quarter with a final score of 67-21.
The varsity team fared well, too, with a final score of 56-0 at halftime.
Homecoming is this week with a doubleheader game on Friday. Junior high will kickoff at 5:30 p.m. with varsity following at 7:30 p.m. There will also be a community pep rally and family fun night Thursday from 7-8 p.m. There will be a yell practice where the cheerleaders will teach the crowd some cheers to participate in on Friday night. There will be snow cones and a water balloon toss. Come out and join in on some fun and school spirit!
Next week, there will be a PTC meeting on Tuesday the 19th at 4:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. We will be discussing Fall Festival. If you are looking for a way to get involved in your child’s education, this is a great step. Hope to see you there!
