Mini cheer campers! -
All American high school cheerleaders Seniors Maycie Shanklin, Hailey Penney, and Chloe Berrio
It’s week two here at Cherokee ISD. We had a difficult first week as we lost a very important community member, but our village always comes together to support and care for each other.
Over the summer, our cheerleaders were already working hard to prepare for football season. At UCA cheer camp in July, three of our high school cheerleaders and two of our junior high cheerleaders earned an All-American distinction. Congratulations to Maycie Shanklin, Chloe Berrio, Hailey Penney, Ella Graves, and Taylor Randolph! These hard-working ladies plan to attend the Varsity Spectacular at Disney in November. The cheerleaders also led a mini cheer camp in July. These mini-Cheerleaders performed a cheer and a dance at Meet the Indians and will perform again during halftime of the first home game on August 25th.
In other sports news, on Thursday, there is a high school scrimmage here against Leakey at 6:30 p.m. Come get a sneak peek at our Indians and enjoy some concessions provided by our junior class. They are working the concession stand as a fundraiser. Our high school cross country team will be running in Johnson City on Friday. Good luck, Indians!
Our first PTC meeting of the new school year will be on August 22nd at 4:30 p.m. This is a great way to get involved in our school and community. There are many ways to pitch in from leading committees to more behind the scenes jobs. There is a place for everyone to serve.
