Last week our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders traveled to Johnson City for a field trip to the Science Mill. While there, they explored the museum which features many hands on activities. Students experimented with sand, wind, topography, brain waves, sound waves, magnets, and much more. Next was the lab experience. They learned a bit about robotics and coding and also had an animal encounter. Students were able to learn about, view, and even touch a hissing cockroach from Madagascar, an alligator lizard, and a bull snake. After that, they watched a 3D short movie called Space Junk. They were amazed by the 3D glasses and the sound effects in the theater! Next they were able to explore other areas of the museum where they could build their own electric car and take it for a spin on an elevated track. The aquaponics green house was a big hit as well. They learned so much and had a great time!

Last week, our junior high basketball teams started their season. The boys won big with a score of 50-8 against Lohn. The girls also beat Lohn with a score of 20-14.

Our football boys played in the area playoff game last week in Strawn. They took on the Blackwell Hornets. The Hornets fought hard and gave our boys a challenge. It was a back and forth kind of game. Gunner Baugh and Rode Ligon contributed to our first eight points of the game. The game was tied at eight after the first quarter. Joey Bond scored another touchdown in the 2nd quarter bringing the score to 14-8 at halftime. Baugh and Ligon scored again, but Blackwell responded with two more touchdowns. The hornets were ahead at the end of the third. Joel Valdez and Ligon put another eight points on the board, and Blackwell responded tying the score at 30. Bond scored a touchdown securing the lead, and the Indians won with a final score of 36-30. Congratulations to our Area Champs! They will play this Friday in Miles against Loraine. We hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving break!
