Last week ended district play for the Cherokee Indians. The junior high team was victorious over Lohn with a score of 42-7. The varsity team also beat Lohn with a final score of 70-0 at the half. Joel Valdez completed a touchdown pass to Matt Gass. Gunner Baugh ran in a touchdown. Rode Ligon scored two touchdowns and several PATs. Kase Bordner had an interception and touchdown. Caden Houston scored a couple of touchdowns. Emmett Jones and Trent Conner both scored touchdowns as well. It was a huge team effort, and the Indians are ready for this week’s bi-district playoff game in San Saba versus Blanket. Come watch our Indians at 7 p.m. on Friday night.
Basketball practices have begun, so it’s time to check out the schedule and mark your calendars! Basketball season for the junior high teams will begin November 17th against Lohn.
