Things are going really well here at Cherokee ISD. We are all still so thankful to be in school. The students, staff, and parents are doing so well with our new guidelines. We appreciate everyone’s efforts. Keep up the good work!

Our Cherokee Indians took on Buckholtz on Friday here at home. The Indians came on strong with a touchdown from Erick Miller, followed by the PAT from Joey Bond. Tristian Arkansas scored the next two touchdowns of the first quarter. Arkansas ran in two more touchdowns before the opposing team responded with a touchdown of their own. At halftime the score was 35-6 in favor of the Indians. Buckholtz tried to gain some ground with a touchdown in the third quarter, but the Indians wouldn’t allow it. Two more touchdowns from Arkansas and the PAT from Joey Bond sealed the deal, and the Indians took the victory. The final score was 57-12.

This week, our Indians will be playing in Lometa Thursday night. Please take note of that day as it is different from our usual Friday night games. We will have a pep rally at school on Thursday as well. Time to be determined.

We will have no school next Monday, September 7, due to the Labor Day holiday. This means we WILL have school on Friday, September 11th. Take note of this on your calendars!

We are truly savoring every moment we have together this year. We appreciate everyone’s patience and diligence as we embark on this unique school year.
