For the junior high girls, Mandi Fry placed 14th, Isabella Rocha placed 20th, and Anika Srishti placed 21st. For JV boys, August Alonso placed 7th. For varsity boys, Weston Woolsey placed 3rd, Ruben Morgan placed 10th, and Kam Holt placed 22nd. Our varsity girls were the district runners-up overall and are regional qualifiers as a team. Tilar Turman placed 3rd, Preslee Duggan placed 4th, Taylor Randolph placed 9th, Hannah Sims placed 17th, and Lily Graves placed 18th. Woolsey, Morgan, Turman, Duggan, and Randolph all qualified for regionals as individuals.

In football news, junior high had a bye week, and varsity took on San Antonio DaVinci. The game got off to a late start but ended early as the Indians shut out their opponent at half time with a final score of 58-6.

Fifth graders across the county attended Farm Safety Day in San Saba last week. They traveled to different stations learning about safety rules, laws, and wisdom. Some stations were very interactive, and every single presenter did a wonderful job connecting with the kids. Some of the stations included fire safety, sun safety, ATV safety, snake safety, pet and livestock safety, bee knowledge/ safety, and hunting safety. The kids learned a lot and had some fun. Thank you to everyone involved in this special day!

Progress reports went out this week, so make sure you are checking in with your student on their grades. Help them to understand the importance of doing their best. Equip them with some conversation starters they can use with their teachers to foster better understanding of course content. As always, reach out to the classroom teachers with any questions, comments, or concerns.

Have a great week!
