The San Saba girls (13-6) went on the road Tuesday and picked up a solid 50-42 win over 4A Mineral Wells, led by junior Macy Sebastain’s season-high 15 points. After a slow start, the Lady Dillos racked up 31 points over the final 14 minutes of the first half to build a 12-point advantage. San Saba pushed the lead to 40-24 heading into the final frame. Mineral Wells hit a pair of late three-pointers to cut the final margin to single digits.
On Friday night, the Lady Dillos opened district play at home with a convincing 59-5 win over Center Point. San Saba’s ball press defense smothered the visiting Lady Pirates in the first half, to a 37-2 halftime lead.
The Lady Dillos joined the Armadillos this Tuesday for a district double header at Harper. The San Saba girls will next travel to the Abilene area to play in the Eula Holiday Classic where they open bracket play against Graford on Wednesday, December 28, at 12:30 p.m.
