The Lady Dillos headed to Harper last week for their 3rd district game and came away with a big road victory. Harper has a lot of size and brought back most of their team from last season. The Lady Dillos knew the Lady Horns would come out firing, but the Lady Dillos were up for the challenge. The first quarter was pretty tight, but the Lady Dillos would bust the game open with a 27-point second quarter which advanced the Lady Dillo lead to 34-14 at halftime. The Lady Dillos would continue to wear Harper down with physical defensive play and balanced ball movement on offense. The Lady Dillos would hold Harper to only 11 second-half points and eventually defeated Harper by a score of 56-25.
The Lady Dillos were scheduled to play Eldorado on New Year’s Eve, but inclement weather caused the game to be canceled. The Lady Dillos will be back in action on Tuesday, January 5, as they host Center Point at 6:30 p.m. Center Point does not have a JV, so the JV girls will play Cherokee at 4:00 p.m. They will then travel to Junction on January 8 for another district match-up. Varsity will start at 6:30 p.m. Junction won’t have a JV either, so we are trying to find a game for the JV girls. The Lady Dillos will then close out the first round of District play as they host Mason on January 11.
