The Lady Dillos are off to a nice start as they improved to 8-0 with three more wins this week against Christoval, Early, and Jarrell.
On Tuesday, the Lady Dillos hosted a very good Christoval team. It was an intense four-quarter battle as both teams played solid defense and executed on offense. The Lady Dillos eventually wore the Lady Cougars down as they held them to only 6 points in the 2nd half and scoreless in the 4th quarter. The Lady Dillos defeated Christoval by a score of 36-23.
On Friday night, the Lady Dillos faced the Lady Horns of Early. The Lady Dillos got off to a fast start as they scored the first 11 points of the game before causing Early to use a quick timeout. The Lady Dillos would continue to frustrate the Lady Horns with their defensive pressure and balanced offense. The Lady Dillos went on to defeat Early by a score of 75-28.
For their third and final game of the week, the Lady Dillos hosted an athletic and quick team from Jarrell. Once again, the Lady Dillos got off to a hot start with some great shooting and teamwork as they built up a 21-5 first quarter lead. The Lady Dillos never looked back and went on to defeat Jarrell by a score of 70-26.
I have been really pleased with the way the girls are playing as a team. They are moving the ball well on offense and playing unselfishly. They are using their speed to run the floor and apply pressure to their opponents. We have been balanced on offense, and I feel like that causes big problems for the other teams.
The Lady Dillos will have two more pre-season games this week before starting District on December 15 in Goldthwaite. The Lady Dillos will host Brownwood on Tuesday and then will travel to Eula on Friday, December 11. If you get a chance to come out and watch these young ladies, please do!
