On Tuesday, September 17th, San Saba Elementary staff, students, and families celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with a performance and dinner in the San Saba Elementary gym and cafeteria. Hadley Fuller and Carolina Aguiñaga Ortiz welcomed everyone to the performance, and Mrs. Fuller, SSES Music Teacher, and Mr. Wenzel, SSES Student Teacher, led the children in singing and playing some folkloric dances and songs from Latin America.
So many different people and businesses came together to make the evening a huge success. The SSHS Dilloettes and SSHS Cheerleaders gave wonderful performances. John Darin Barker, SSFBC Youth Minister, kicked off our meal by leading us in the prayer, in both Spanish and English, to bless the food. The dinner was served in the SSES Cafeteria, where many families and businesses (Pepperbelly’s, Sonic, Lowes, Napolis, and Agave Jalisco) donated delicious foods, desserts, and everything needed to serve the feast. Many wonderful families and teachers also donated things to contribute to the amazing dinner.
Staff from SSES appreciates the support in celebrating their 5th annual Hispanic La Familia Dinner at San Saba Elementary School and said 'Every part of the evening was enjoyed by all!' Information in this article provided by Lucia Martinez, PK-3 Teacher at San Saba Elementary School.
