High School Students Launch “Jesus Club” with Bibles & Breakfast

A group of enthusiastic students at San Saba High School kicked off the school year in a unique way by handing out Bibles and donuts to their fellow classmates on an early Monday morning while inviting their peers to join them for “Jesus Club” the following day. The students were very excited to say a total of 40 Bibles were handed out that morning!

“Jesus Club” began two years ago by offering a welcoming space for students to share the Word of God and the love of Jesus with one another. Since then, the concept has spread to the Middle School campus which offers their own “Jesus Club” biweekly during their lunch time.

This year, the student’s launch looked a little different due to a new state law, Senate Bill 12, requiring parental permission for students to take part in clubs on school grounds. Parents must now sign a form before their students can attend. This form was sent out via Parent Square or can be obtained at the school office or from any Jesus Club leader.

Despite the extra step, enthusiasm remains high as the Jesus Club leaders hope their efforts will inspire others and leave a lasting impact on their school community.

The club will meet every other Tuesday during the lunch period in the Armadillo Arena lobby, with the first meeting already held this past Tuesday. The leaders emphasize that “Jesus Club” is open, not only to public school students, but also to those who are homeschooled and want to take part.
