An exciting month of September football is about to wrap as San Saba High School, Richland Springs High School, and Cherokee High School continue their regular seasons at the varsity level with each playing home games this Friday night.
San Saba (3-1) vs. Dublin (1-3)
Last Friday night’s 35-31 loss at Llano High School was an absolute heartbreaker for San Saba, as the Dillos came incredibly close to spoiling the Jackets’ homecoming game.
However, the Dillos should be all smiles for their own homecoming game at 7:30 p.m. this Friday night as San Saba hosts the Dublin High School Lions.
Expect to see the Dillos get right back in the win column against a Lions squad that has struggled on the road so far this season, which includes a 64-27 loss at the hands of Albany High School back on September 4.
Richland Springs (2-0) vs. Covenant Classical (0-0)
Add yet another blowout victory to the Richland Springs varsity football team’s resume as they made easy work on the road of Darrouzett High School as the visiting Coyotes trounced the Longhorns 56-7.
The Coyotes will be back at home this Friday night at 7:30 p.m. when they host the Covenant Classical School Cavaliers, a team from Forth Worth that is making its season debut.
Cherokee (3-1) vs. Cranfills Gap (1-2)
Just like that, the Cherokee Indians varsity football team has now surpassed its 2019 win total following another lopsided victory last week, this time at home via a 77-30 drubbing of the Gustine High School Tigers.
This week, Cherokee will be at home again at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, September 25, as the Indians host the Cranfills Gap High School Lions.
This should be yet another win for this upstart Indians team, as Cranfills Gap lost to Gustine 38- 27 back on September 11.
