Coyotes shut out the Tornados, 46-0

Coyote Athletics had another busy week at home and on the road. The Lady Coyotes volleyball team defeated Zephyr and Mullin to complete their first round of district play, JV football took on Baird for another victory, and the Varsity Coyotes found a game late in the week against the Lubbock West Texas Tornadoes. After a 46 - 0 shutout, the Coyotes are now 7-0 for the season.

Cohen Ethridge (#13) and Billy Perry (#17) each had two touchdown runs, Ethridge with 47 rushing yards and Perry with 23 yards. Perry also had a 27-yard touchdown pass to Hutton Rogers (#9) who had an interception early on in the game as well. Gage Behrens (#20) had the final touchdown of the game with a five-yard plunge for the score. Ethan Deeds (#8) had a successful debut as kicker, converting five out of six of the two-point kicks.

The Coyotes were scheduled to take on Panther Creek this week, but due to their forfeited season, Richland Springs Football will have a Bye week.

The Lady Coyote Volleyball team will begin their second round of district play against the Rochelle Hornets this Wednesday, October 23rd, at RISD. Additionally, the Lady Coyote Cross Country team will compete at the regional meet on Tuesday, October 22nd, in Corpus Christi.
