It was a successful day for Richland Springs High School students at the District 17 UIL Academic Meet. Richland Springs High School placed 1st in the District 17 Academic Spring Meet with 414.16 total points. Lometa was 2nd with 385 points. Rochelle was 3rd with 296.83 points. Cherokee was 4th with 284 points. Brookesmith was 5th with 73 points. Lohn was 6th with 31 points. Individual placings are listed below.

Accounting: Savannah Perry placed first, Brynlii Chandler placed second, and Ryleigh Bryant placed fourth.

Calculator Applications: Sierra Tharp placed second, and Joshua Usery placed third.

Computer Applications: Nancy Valdez placed second, Tori Colvin placed third, and Savannah Perry placed fourth.

Copy Editing: Tori Colvin placed first and Maddie Bailey placed third.

Computer Science: Tyler Grant placed first, Hannah Miller placed second, Savannah Perry placed third, and Nancy Valdez placed fourth.

Editorial Writing: Lili Appleton placed sixth.

Feature Writing: Piper Moats placed fourth.

Headline Writing: Piper Moats placed second.

Literary Criticism: Lanie Norris placed third, and Savannah Perry placed sixth.

Mathematics: Jeremiah Beam placed fourth and Jayden Sutherland placed sixth.

News Writing: Sierra Tharp placed fourth and Nancy Valdez placed fifth.

Poetry Interpretation: Lanie Norris placed fifth.

Prose Interpretation: Nick Nilson placed fifth, and Maddie Bailey placed sixth.
