January is School Board Recognition month. Take this opportunity to help acknowledge thousands of public servants who make the time to share their vision and voice about the future of Texas children. A special thanks to our board members: President Jason Lewis, Vice President Rennie Mann, Secretary Tana Lusty, Sally Gossett, Grant Appleton, Steven Tharp, and Nick Taylor.

The Lady Coyotes varsity basketball team was victorious in their first outing in district play and is coached by Dara Chandler. The varsity boys will have their first basketball game on January 15. The junior high girls and the junior high boys are experiencing success on the court. Come to the games and watch the fast-paced action of Coyote basketball. Congratulations to our football coaches and athletes on a successful season!

Shawn Dennis and our agriculture students were busy last week preparing animals for the San Saba County Stock Show which was held this past weekend. Congratulations to all who participated in the 2021 San Saba County Stock Show. A special thanks to Shawn Dennis and all the San Saba County Young Farmers who worked many hours assisting student exhibitors last week. Also, a special thanks to the San Saba County community and area businesses that support our students. Thanks for all you do!

January 5th was the beginning of the second semester. Junior high and high school students should receive report cards in the mail this week. Call the school if you do not receive your child’s report card.

It’s great to see our community supporting students in their efforts to achieve. We have a great community, students, teachers and staff. It takes everyone working together to achieve success. It looks to be a great year at Richland Springs.
