The San Saba County Chamber of Commerce held their yearly Stan Weik Cancer Stomp 5k and 1-mile fun run on Saturday, March 25th, at the San Saba River Golf Course. This was the third year for the event. Over 115 people ran/walked the beautiful course. The race was part of the Centex series which attracted elite runners from the Central Texas area. Top Overall Male was Charles Cook with an astonishing time of 9:21. Top overall Female was Thea Barragan with a time of 9:25. All proceeds will help benefit the Never Surrender Foundation.
The Rotary Club donated breakfast bars, and Lowe’s Market donated water for the event. Because of all who participated, this was a very successful event.
