Falls City edges San Saba 47-41
Despite a valiant effort by a young Lady Dillo squad, Falls City utilized its height and experience down the stretch to capture a 47-41 Bi-District playoff win at Boerne Champion High School last Monday.
The score was tied 23-23 at the half, and Falls City led 28-27 after three quarters. The Lady Dillos battled to take a two-point lead with just two minutes remaining, but a few San Saba turnovers and some clutch plays by Falls City turned the tide at the end.
Olivia Sebastain sank five three-pointers on the night and paced the Lady Dillos with 19 points and three assists. Cinzlea Stanton added seven points and four rebounds and Aaliyah Patino had seven points and two assists for San Saba. Chassidy Gonzales chipped in five points, three assists and three steals, and Caroline McHam had three points and three rebounds. Macy Sebastain pitched in with four rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Falls City (31-6) defeated Kenedy 59-32 in the Area round on Thursday and was scheduled to meet 29-2A champion, Goldthwaite (29-3), in the Regional Quarterfinal round on Monday.
