Buck Till, a student at A&M college in College Station came to spend Christmas Holidays with his mother, Mrs. Willie Mae till and friends.

Amelia Honig Cowan, the first lady of San Saba to have a special day proclaimed in her honor as she did on Dec. 21, 1958, when she observed her birthday, marked her 86th birth anniversary with a quiet day in her home. Mrs. Cowan, wife of the late W. D. Cowan, who established the San Saba Star in 1902, retired in 1959, after 42 years of active newspaper work with The Star. She began her newspaper career in the office of The Star with her husband.

Tommy Keeney, area representative of the Life and Casualty Insurance Company, announced that Mrs. Kelly Amthor won an eleven pound turkey at the company's annual Christmas Turkey Drawing, and that the turkey had been delivered to Mrs. Amthor.

Dear Santa, I want a big play house for Christmas. And my little sister wants a pair of shoes for her doll, and a satin dress for her doll too. Santa please bring toys for the other children.

Love, Anita and Irene Martinez Mr. and Mrs. James Oliver Moore Sr. of Richland Springs, retired rancher-farmer and his bride of 67 years, had no celebration on their wedding anniversary, but are busy planning for their annual family get-to-ether Christmas with their children and their families, the group totaling 51 members. Born in 1869, they are San Saba County's oldest couple, residents of Richland Springs since 1876 and 1875 respectively.

Dear Santa, Would you please bring me a new pair of boots, a basketball and two new dolls. One doll's name is Barbie and the other doll is Betsy Wetsy. I would like to have a layette for Betsy and some clothes for Barbi. And Santa don't forget all the other boys and girls. I hope you have a happy Christmas.

The varsity boys hosted the Llano varsity boys basketball team. The Dillos almost ran the Llano boys off the court as the Dillos completely dominated the game. Final score was San Saba 100 and Llano 53. Scorers for the Dillos were Dustin Lewis 28, Brannon Huron 20, Chance Edwards 16, Michael Judkins 13, Matt Esquivel 9, Ellis Miller 8, Sean Smith 4, and Shawn Mc-Neely 2. Great game, go Dillos!

Natalie Rene Reeves graduated from Tarleton State University with a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology. Natalie is the daughter of Mark and Kay Lynn Scott of San Saba and the wife of Justin C. Reeves of Lampasas. Natalie resides in Lampasas with her husband and two year old son, Preston Scott.

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America at San Saba High School recently participated in Operation Shoebox. Members of the organization voluntarily filled 23 shoe boxes with Christmas gifts as one of their community service projects. The boxes will be distributed this week to children in Mexico, who would otherwise not receive a gift for Christmas.

Brad and Shelli Shannon of Richland Springs, Texas are the proud parents of a son, Wade Levi Shannon. He was born November 25 in Llano, Texas, weighing 7 lbs. 6 oz. and was 20 inches long.

Dear Santa, How are you? I am fine. Here is my wish list for this Christmas. I want a stuffed unicorn, a Diva Starz doll, a Sailor Moon plush doll, a Me and my Shadow dog, a stuffed gibbon monkey and a wish for love and peace for all on Christmas Day.

Love, Cydnee Contreras, San Saba Elementary Never Fail Banana Nut Muffins (Pecan Food Show Reserve Grand Champion-Club-Nedra Butler) 1 Cup Shortening (Butter flavored) 1 1/2 Cups Sugar 2 Large Eggs 2 Teaspoons Vanilla Cream together until fluffy.

5 Bananas, ripe & 2 tablespoons Lemon. Beat until liquid (should be about 4 cups) 2 teaspoons baking soda, mixed well with 3 cups of Flour Blend Banana mixture & Flour mixture into Shortening mixture.

Add 2 cups pecans, put in large muffin pans.

Bake @ 350° for 25 minutes. Yield: 12 Large Muffins
