After a rough home loss to 4th-ranked Lipan last Tuesday, the Lady Dillos bounced back to win four out of five games at the Brady Tournament over the weekend. Also, in individual tournament-wide competitions at Brady, senior Lexy Amthor went nine for 10 to get 2nd place in the girls’ tournament free throw contest while sophomore Cinzlea Stanton made 10 three-pointers in a minute to finish 2nd place in that girls’ contest.
On Tuesday at the Armadillo Arena, the visiting Lady Indians utilized a 19-3 second quarter advantage to take a 37-12 halftime lead. Lipan went on to win 56-25. At Brady on Thursday, San Saba beat Rocksprings 61-45. The Lady Dillos split games in Friday action, defeating San Angelo Lakeview 58-16, before falling in a hotly contested game to Abilene Cooper, 47-53. On Saturday, the Lady Dillos managed to grind out a couple wins on tired legs, getting the best of San Angelo Grape Creek 50-38, and then defeated Blanco 48-39.
This week the Lady Dillos (11-6) have one more big school on the schedule, as they travel to Mineral Wells on Tuesday before they open district play at home on Friday against Center Point. Start times for both Tuesday and Friday are schedule for JV at 5:00 and Varsity at 6:15.
