SSCFOA announces a change in operations

Due to a shortage of volunteer help, San Saba County Friends of Animals is pausing intake under its rescue and adoption program, effective immediately. If and when our circumstances change, we will let everyone know through an announcement here in the San Saba News & Star, and on our Facebook page.

In the meantime, we will continue our low-cost spay/neuter assistance, trap/neuter/return (TNR) and pet assistance programs. Through these programs, we will focus on reducing the unwanted pet population in San Saba County, as well as help residents in our community keep their family pets safe and in their homes. We will also continue to post lost and found animals in an effort to help reunite them with their families, and we'll assist the San Saba Animal Shelter in placing unclaimed dogs who are impounded there.

We are looking for a few volunteers to coordinate intake, foster-ing and transfers of cats and dogs and to run our TNR program for community cats. The right person for any of these positions would enjoy dealing with members of the public, be very organized and have great attention to detail, and – of course – love helping animals! If you’d like to learn more, please contact us through our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/SanSabaCountyFriendsofAnimals) or by calling or texting 325-372-7387.

As always, we appreciate everyone who supports our mission of assisting lost, abandoned, neglected and abused animals in San Saba County. Thank you for being a friend to animals in our community!
