Jordan Cattle Auction

Receipts totaled 5,551 head. The overall market this week was definitely softer due to the health issues on the calves going to stocker operators, grow yards, and feed yards with the cool nights and warm days along with the wheat grazing area in Texas and Oklahoma really needing a rain so that the stocker operators can be confident that grazing will be available. The stocker steers and heifers were $8-$12 lower with some of the lighter and fleshier calves $15 lower. The feeder steers and heifers were $5-$10 lower except the true yearling cattle were in good demand which sold steady to $2 lower. Packer cows were $2-$4 lower, and bulls were $2 lower. Pairs and bred cows were steady.
