Alice in Wonder Land

There have been changes in my life since last Monday evening. I tested positive for covid so my routine was changed. I notified friends and relatives and was helped by their concern and prayers. The medication I was prescribed kept the pain at a minimum. I will be shouting and praising God Friday, August 26th, when I will be out and about without a mask. Along that thought, I could hear the shouts and praising God because San Saba got rain! Hallelujah!

I have spent time reading and finished a book by Lee Strobel, New York Times best selling author, The Case for Heaven; a journalist investigates evidence for life after death. This topic has been on my mind since my husband Larry died 11-22-20. I won't be able to quote the book because of copyright regulations, but I highly recommend it. Sunday, I got The Fathers House service on Facebook, and it was a great feeling - like I was sitting with Larry behind Sister Cynthia who was taping the service. It was a great mes- sage, Pastor Tom.

I love writing this article and receiving the San Saba News that keeps me informed. In the issue August 11th, my former neighbors across Rt. 16, the Amthor's were on the front page and neighbors across the street on 9th street were the Vaughn's featured in the Chamber of Commerce member spotlight. Congratulations to these great neighbors!

An epitaph on a century-old tombstone is a reminder of death for all of us: Pause, stranger, when you pass me by; As you are now, so once was I. As I am now, so you will be, So prepare for death and follow me.

An unknown visitor scrawled a reply: To follow you I'm not content, Until I know which way you went.

John 11:25 NIV...Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?”
