If all things work out the right way, next week’s report will come from the cooler shores of Alaska courtesy of Norwegian Cruise Lines.
The kids are going to tend to dying flowers and stock tanks, and I will take care of staying cool. This is a belated fiftieth anniversary gift. It pushed me into retirement. I may regret resigning come September or October, but for now, I am eagerly waiting for the cruise with my sweetie, my son, Scott, his wife, Heather, and their family. I am a blessed woman. I have two daughters living close to me and two sons living far away from me. Wish me luck.
Shiloh kids and other local young people headed for Intensity Camp last week. Based upon the testimonies at both churches, the camp was successful. Each camper brings home a different story, but the object is to touch the heart and lives of our youth. Congratulations, everyone, for attending.
VBS is this week at First Baptist. Children from K-5th are invited to attend. Junior high and high school students will come and assist to make this a rewarding experience. If you need a ride, please contact Kristy Perry. The church vans will be picking up around 9:30 a.m.
Mr. Womack is posting the bios for the in-coming teachers on the school web page. They are informative and interesting. I’ve only seen two so far, but they are impressive pages. Mrs. Locker and two of her drama students, Kelsey Stewart and Maggie Bailey, attended a theater camp last week. The reviews for the camp are awesome. Both girls excelled in their parts. The play chosen was about the Salem witch trials. Congratulations to all on outstanding performances.
Comments on our new postmistress are positive and uplifting. It will be wonderful to have someone who is there all the time and understands our little community. She’s still new, so please be patient. The good thing is she likes working with people. Welcome Chrissy Baker.
I wish we were drilling and producing oil here in the United States, but our leaders think it’s better to share the wealth. That may be so, but there are many here in this country who are not wealthy, and groceries are getting beyond expensive. Please pray for good common sense from our leaders in congress. We still need a drenching rain in the area; our ranchers are hurting. Please pray for the sick in our community, and if you have a neighbor who is elderly, please check on them to make sure they are doing well.
School is just around the corner. I want to remind Richland parents that the school is providing all the school supplies this year. Lord, be with our new school staff and our students as we start the 2022-2023 year. Stay cool and don’t forget to pray for our precious troops and their families. Thank you to our VFD for keeping us safe.
