Alice in Wonder Land

I need to get this article to the San Saba News & Star today, Friday, July 1st, because the office will be closed Monday, July 4th. On Monday, I will be going to Gratiot, Ohio, to watch a parade and eat at the firehouse where the United Methodist Church members will have food. They are known for homemade noodles that I remember helping make at the church years ago when I lived in that area.

Next Wednesday, July 6th, I will be going to see the movie ELVIS with Judy Crothers, my son-in-law's mother. I remember my teenage years when Elvis changed Rock & Roll music, well, I mean how it was presented. Parents did not approve of his style. Actually, I liked him, but LOVED Pat Boone, Doris Day, Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby.

I enjoyed talking with Audrey this morning. Her hound dog Boregard (Bo) is her companion now since Charlie died as is my faithful chocolate Lab Ellie since Larry died. When I was talking to her, it reminded me of the times she would come to town and we would have coffee and a great visit.

When I was watering a beautiful plant in a large container outside by my porch this morning, a small bird flew out. It has found refuge from the rain and heat but not from a lady giving it a shower!

We certainly need spiritual wisdom because of the conditions of the world today.

1 Corinthians 2:9 (New King James Version) But as it is written: Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.

These words are being sung on the radio right now: 'Jesus is coming back...Are you ready?.... Get ready!'
