MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Aunt M’s Illustrated Inn first opened its doors at 203 W. Commerce Street in San Saba on May 1, 2016. Mae Gonzales wears many hats at Aunt M’s. She is the Owner, Operator, Artist, Chief Cook, and Bottle Washer.

Mae fell in love with the idea of opening a Bed and Breakfast as a child due to the influence of her grandmother and then again after staying in one for the first time as an adult. She believed that it would be a great way to offer a valuable service to the community.

According to Mae, Aunt M’s Illustrated Inn offers not only a clean comfortable home away from home, but a unique travel experience. Mae states that each room is like no other room that you will ever have the pleasure of staying in because of the unique themes and murals that she has painted in each one. They put a lot of love into all that they do, especially in their hot homecooked breakfast!

Aunt M’s really enjoys being able to offer a quiet relaxing getaway spot to people far and near. Mae enjoys visiting with guests over breakfast as well.
