MOE 7th/8th (6-0) picked up their second tournament championship in a row by winning the 8th Grade Girls Division of the 2022 “Magic Not on Mother’s Day Shootout” on Saturday, April 7, at Eastview High School in Georgetown, Texas. MOE had wins over Killeen CenTex Seahawks (30-15), Austin Lady Magic (38-20), and Buda CTX Lady Knights (50-11) to win the tournament championship. MOE 5th/6th (24-7) picked up their fifth tournament championship of the year by winning the 6th Grade Girls Division of the 2022 “Magic Not on Mother’s Day Shootout” on Saturday, April 7, at Georgetown High School in Georgetown, Texas. MOE had wins over Lampasas Tetelestai (40-7) and Cedar Park Sparks (43-30) to advance to the tournament championship. In the title game, Cedar Park Phoenix would jump out to an early eight-point lead, but MOE would rally late in a thrilling fashion to win the tournament championship (25-20). With the tournament championship, MOE reached a huge milestone by picking up the 150th tournament championship for the MOE Basketball program since it’s inception in 2004. JLD (25-1) captured its sixth consecutive tournament championship by winning the 3rd/4th Grade Girls Division of the 2022 “Magic Not on Mother’s Day Shootout” on Saturday, April 7, at Forbes Middle School in Georgetown, Texas. JLD had wins over Hillsboro Lady Pride (14-3), Austin Lady Magic (16-7), and TWE Black (21-10) to win the tournament championship.
