The Bend News

Hello from Bend!

March is officially here, and we are kicking it off with a lot of celebrations! Wednesday, March 2nd, was Texas Independence Day! Happy Birthday to Texas….186 years! WOW! I guess I could’ve taken that into perspective as I woke up this morning, forced myself out of bed, and faced my own birthday. It’s my first day of being… umm.….well, I’m not 186, so there’s that.

Sharon Lloyd also has a birthday this week, March 6th. Happy Birthday to Sharon!

Jon and Christine Byrd are proud to announce that their son, Stephen, is now engaged!!

Stephen and his lovely fiance, Jessica, are planning a Bend wedding some time in October.

In other news, Saturday, March 12th, a Celebration of Life Memorial Service is being held to honor Teresa Diane Lemons; may she rest in peace. Time of service will be at 2 p.m., located at High Valley Baptist Church. Teresa passed on from this life on February 15th, which was also her 65th birthday. Our deepest sympathies, thoughts, and prayers are with all of Teresa’s friends and family. May you find peace and comfort in all of your hearts.

Yesterday, Bend United Methodist Church held an Ash Wednesday service at 5:30 p.m.

What a blessing of blessings! For anyone that would like to join in praise and worship, please see below for church service times in Bend. All are welcome.

● Bend United Methodist Church - Sunday service starts at 9 a.m. followed by refreshments and fellowship. Adult Bible Study takes place at 6 p.m. Sunday nights.

● High Valley Baptist Church - Sunday school starts at 10 a.m. followed by service at 11 a.m.

● Bend Church of Christ - Sunday Bible class starts at 10 a.m. and service follows at 10:45 a.m.

I hope that everyone has a fantastic upcoming week. With all that’s going on in the world, it is so easy to get overwhelmed. I pray that we all can make (and take) time to sit back, take a breath, put things into perspective and find a reason to celebrate.

Until next week, from yours truly,

Brandie from the Bend
