What a great trip I had visiting my granddaughter and family in Tennessee last week! Requesting a wheelchair at age 80 is a great help because it is a long walk at the airport, especially to get luggage at the end of the flights. I took a lot of photos so that the memories are just a touch away on my phone, and I will print them off also.
On Tuesday, I had a fever, vomited and was weak, so I went and got a covid test. I stayed home several days until the result of NEGATIVE! By the time I got the results, I was feeling well and thankful I did not have covid again.
Monday afternoon (February 21st), I will be presenting a program at Primrose Retirement Center, located three minutes down the road from where I live in Zanesville, Ohio. That evening, I will enjoy the performance of the Polish Wieniawski Philharmonic Orchestra. I will love these musical events, and they remind me of how I miss singing with The Singing Women of Texas. Before I moved to Ohio, TSWOT met at a restaurant in Abilene to say 'goodbye' to me. They gave me a pillow for the pillowcase they autographed and a small scrapbook that had songs we sang that the members wrote a loving message to me. A member wrote: Dear Alice, I must share my life verse with you: 'They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up on wings as eagles. They shall run and not grow weary. They shall walk and not grow faint. Teach me, Lord, to wait'....Isaiah 40:31. So many times, I have turned to this verse and found strength when I didn't know the answers. But God's timing is always perfect. I love you! Karen
