The pace at school is picking up if that is possible. We are less than two months away from the first of the STAAR testing dates. That means we teachers must have completed the necessary work to make our students successful. Since we are still filling in the blanks from distance learning, that’s not an easy task. We will do the best we can under the circumstances.
I love my sisters, but Canadian politics are different from ours.
Canadians have multiple parties from which to choose. This means they can vote in more than three parties, and no one gets a solid majority.
That means parties must cooperate with one another. I try to get them to understand our dynamics, but I’m not always successful. They both believe in masks and shutting things down, but one is an anti-Trumper, and the other is a pro-Trumper. That does not make for good family vacations. I don’t feel comfortable anymore. That is a shame.
Unfortunately, that is happening all over this country. Many citizens are tired of the masks here and in Europe, as well as Canada. I hope the Canadian truckers don’t end up in prison.
The Senior lunch, organized by Mrs. Starr and prepared under the supervision of Mrs. Bea Soto, went well this past Sunday. I was also pleased to see people still frequenting the Stagecoach Restaurant. Our kids need the benefit meals, but we want the restaurant to stay in business as well. I’m not sure how the Saturday breakfast went. If it is successful, they will open every Saturday. They also have plans to extend the breakfast menu on Thursday through Saturday if they have enough clients. I encourage everyone in the area to make this your eatery as often as possible. The food is good.
The Preservation Committee will meet at the Stagecoach, from 4 to 6 p.m., Saturday the 19th. There will be a special menu for those attending the meeting. This will also be the first annual cookie contest. Bring your favorite Valentine cookie recipe. Do you have the winning recipe?
Our Lady Coyotes basketball team are District Champions again. The Coyotes are in second place. The junior high teams were District Champions as well, I understand. We need to be prepared for some exciting play-off games. Please check the Richland Athletic app for game information.
Brother Mack has finished his parachuting class. He freely admits that his older body did not respond well to the rigor and punishment of this three-week class. Typically, this is a class for young recruits, not “old guys.” We’re glad he’s home even if he’s a little bunged up.
Alan Taylor and Gary Massey are still working their way through illness and need our prayers. Danny Phillips and Danny Jr. are doing better after their recent sickness. We have several working their way through the loss of a parent or loved one. Special occasions are always difficult for those who have lost a loved one. Please keep them in your prayers.
Please keep praying for our country, our government, the Ukrainians, the Canadians, our border security troops and most of all, our precious troops, and their families. We also need to add rain as a priority.
