CTEC Employees reach two years without lost-time accident

Employees at Central Texas Electric Cooperative achieved two years worked without a lost-time accident as of the end of business December 21st.

This milestone marks the collective effort of 140 employees and managers working at CTEC, based out of four separate office locations, and covering an 11-county service area.

“Safety is a group effort and a top priority” said CTEC Director of Engineering and Operations, Mitch Elmore, “I am very proud of our continued focus and commitment to safety, and I want to congratulate all our employees on two years of work without a losttime accident.”

“To put this milestone in perspective, it means more than a half of a million man-hours of work without a lost-time accident,” CEO Bob Loth said. “For many of our employees, dangerous hazards are faced every day, whether it is working on high-voltage electric lines, operating all kinds of machinery in all kinds of terrain or driving a fleet of over 100 vehicles at all hours of the day and night. When you consider that a good chunk of these hours were during Winter Storm Uri, when those everyday hazards were multiplied, it makes this accomplishment even more remarkable.”

“CTEC continues to provide regular safety training for its employees and keeps safety as a top priority. Despite reaching this two-year achievement, our goal is to never have another lost-time accident.”

“No matter how long the day is, what matters the most is that everyone goes home safe,” Loth said.
