Annual Angels Unaware Giving Tree to be ready November 26th

Once again, we are asking our generous community to help make Christmas a little brighter for children in need by supporting the 2021 Angels Unaware program sponsored by the San Saba County Child Welfare Board (SSCCWB). The David Williams Memorial Christmas Tree, decorated with ornaments, will be set up in the atrium of the Arrowhead Bank building in San Saba by November 26th.

Each numbered ornament will have the age/grade (up to 6th grade) of the child, clothing size, favorite color and/or toy, and any special request. These anonymous children will be needing a sponsor this Christmas.

A gift limit of $35 is set to make this an affordable and equal giving opportunity. The children who will receive these gifts are not in CPS custody but are in homes where the caregiver/parent needs an extra hand to help make Christmas special this year.

If you are unable to shop, but would like to help, donations are welcome. Checks can be made out to the San Saba County CWB and can be dropped off at Arrowhead National Bank.

Donations can also be given in person to anyone on the SS-CCWB. Board members for 2021 include: Maria Guerrero, Debbie Phelan, Mike Phelan, Monica Shahan, Santos Arredondo, Kathy Brockman, Keith Davis, Shawn Hull, Mary Dell Rhoades, and Jody Fauley.

Please drop off your unwrapped gifts at Alamo Pecan & Coffee by December 13th. The gifts will be delivered on December 21st. If you know the name of a local child who may qualify and wish to add them to our list of names, contact Corina Fauley at 325-205-1454. Corina will need to know the child's home address, contact phone number of an adult caregiver, clothing sizes, and a Christmas wish-list. These names will need to be added no later than December 10th to be included in this year’s gift delivery.

This yearly event is truly a community event. The San Saba Pierian Study Club has already sponsored 39 children; the San Saba Student Council will be making candy treat bags for them; the San Saba County 4H Club will help wrap the gifts; and the San Saba Volunteer Firemen will be delivering the gifts to the children. All that is needed is the remainder of children to be sponsored.

We hope that you will help us make this a wonderful Christmas for local children. Thank you in advance for your help and support. Many blessings to you and your families as we enter the Christmas season of giving. Merry Christmas!
