Volunteer bakers are needed to donate baked goods for the cancer benefit for Bruno Contreras.
See the beautifully illustrated flyer below for details of this upcoming fundraiser.
Any delicious baked goods will be greatly needed and welcomed to be presented and sold to help raise money for the Contreras family. Baked goods to be sold will be a part of this fundraiser; however, these items will be an integral part to raise money to help Bruno and his family defray medical and transportation costs related to medical and hospital costs, as well as transportation expenses for appointments and cancer treatments. It’s important to know, too, that Bruno can’t work at this time.
Baked goods and treats that are usually on everyone’s “want” list include: cookies, cakes, and pies. However, if you have a special talent for candies, decorative cakes, cobblers, cake pops, etc., please share your talent and exquisite taste with everyone who attends this event at Pepperbelly’s Restaurant.
Each baked good will be divided into single servings in order to obtain the ultimate amount of funds raised. Consequently, unless you wish to bring your baked item as single servings, we will have utensils, plates, and wrap for slicing and serving goodies to hungry attendees.
We need everyone possible to participate in the baked goods offerings since a good number of hunters, as well as the usual local crowd, are expected to whet their appetites at Pepperbelly’s on the 13th! In order to know the quantity and type of sweets to expect, please contact Donna Webb at 325-372-1105 or Djuana Payton at 210-422-6146 to be placed on the sign-up sheet.
Bruno and his family have been in San Saba since the early ‘70s. He has worked several jobs simultaneously, including at the News & Star, and it seems everyone knows Bruno. His quiet demeanor, sweet spirit, and helpful attitude leaves a positive, everlasting impression on those who have met him. Everyone who knows Bruno, or those who don’t know him, should come to the benefit. Come show how much you care and support this “guy who knows no stranger,” as well as his family, during this troubled time and need for support - emotional, prayerful, and financial.
