Working with Marsha Hardy, coordinator in the Office of Emergency Management for San Saba County, Wesley Anderson the District Chief for Hamilton Hospital District EMS, and Lacey Womack the Clinic Administrator for MidCoast Wellcare, we have put together a COVID testing program as follows for the community.
COVID Testing in San Saba* FREE COVID-19 rapid screening tests at two sites:
1.) EMS Barn, 607 E. Commerce (across from Pecan Valley Hardware) – Starting Monday, October 4th: Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 10:00 AM to Noon No appointment needed. Drive up and park (at a diagonal) near the southern door that faces the hardware store. If EMS staff are not outside when you pull up knock on the door and return to wait in your car. When staff approach your car then roll down your window and please turn off your car. The testing personnel will gather information, collect a sample, and then return with your results in about 15 minutes. If EMS is out on a call during these hours there will be a sign posted indicating that testing will resume if they are able to return before testing closes at noon.
2.) MidCoast Clinic, 408 W. Wallace (across from Everett’s Pharmacy) – Monday through Friday from 1:00 to 5:00 PM
An appointment is required here. Call the clinic at 936-307- 0763 to make an appointment. At the appointment time, park outside the clinic and call their number to let them know that you’ve arrived, then wait in your car until staff approach. Roll down your window and please turn off your car. The testing personnel will gather information, collect a sample, and then return with your results in about 15 minutes.
* This testing is being supplied to San Saba through the cooperative efforts of San Saba County, the Hamilton Hospital EMS, and MidCoast Wellcare.
