Alone Again Naturally
Hi, my San Saba loves, and how have you been since last we spoke? It has been quite an eventful week in our little abode, and trust me, I plan to tell you all about it. I was just reading the headlines this morning about the poor girl missing girl, Gabby, and them possibly finding her remains in Wyoming. I hate to say this, but I held out little hope it would end any differently. Present behavior predicts future behavior, and her boyfriend was a jealous, angry man. Yes, I know, innocent until proven guilty, but come on!
Okay, here is the scoop and the gossip at the Schulz house. My computer died, up and had a major coronary, and so mom bought me a new laptop. I was so excited and grateful! Well, my elation lasted about two minutes because when I went to sign on to Facebook to talk to my Facebook family…I found I didn’t even exist! Yep, all I could find was some Herman Schulz from Berlin, Germany, who owned a bar! Hey, I may be of German decent, but as far as I am concerned, what I leave on the back porch when I squat smells better than beer and likely tastes better, too! Anyway, I couldn’t find me anywhere or any of my family there and instantly became an orphan! Mom tried every way she could to find my account but failed, so we created a new account for me which worked for about two seconds. But then, suddenly, Facebook kicked me off, and now I am an orphan again! I have spent an entire week without any of my family I have talked to every single day for over five years, and I miss them so much. Did you know when Patches died, they set up a Go Fund Me page for the parentals to buy me and the things I would need since she had donated all Patches’ things to the shelter here in town? Oh man, it makes me so sad not to be with them! Yeah, it has been a rough week.
This week, mom goes to have her second Covid shot. They say the second one makes you feel kind of sick. Umm, mom doesn’t feel all that great most days, so I wonder how this will be for her? Will it mean I will have to pull double nursing duties? I mean, it will be okay if I do; I enjoy my job. Hey, for every soda cracker she eats, I get to eat half of it… there are perks to my job. Having gorgeous huge dachshund eyes can be an enormous bonus, and of course being devastatingly adorable doesn’t hurt either. The best thing is she will be protected after, and so it will be worth a few days of discomfort.
Oh, by the way, dad is so happy the new Lowe’s opened. He came home absolutely raving about it! He told mom how beautiful it is! He has shopping bliss less than a half mile down the road from us! Dad leaves in a week from today to drive to Montana. I wonder if he will miss us as much as he will the new Lowe’s? Speaking of his trip, what an adventure those two will have, and what a long trip! Mom spoke to Shawn, and she told him dad could help with the driving. But Shawn asked - since dad was 80, was she sure it was okay? Mom laughed and said…“Shawn, just because dad is 80 doesn’t mean he drives at 80 miles an hour.”
I love you so much, my dearest San Saba friends, and I have for such a long time. I am so glad having a new laptop doesn’t mean I lost you, too, as I couldn’t abide it. While I create my own happiness, am self sufficient, capable and able to live my own life, what fun would it be without being able to share it with those I love and adore? You have such lovely and beautiful hearts, and I see them, respect them, admire them and think of them every single day. Thank you for being.
