5. Andreas Aguirre, San Saba
Going into his third season leading the Armadillo program, Aguirre has compiled a 21-4 record in Class 2A Division I. After he was promoted from defensive coordinator, the Dillos advanced to the state quarterfinals in 2019 and to the area round in 2020. San Saba is ranked No. 17 in the state preseason.

1. Jerry Burkhart, Richland Springs
Nine state championships. Isn't that enough said? The most titles by any six-man football program in the state of Texas. Burkhart has compiled a record of 219-11, and the 2020 version of the Coyotes played in the Division II state final. Richland Springs is ranked No. 2 preseason for 2021.

2. Reagan Mejia, San Saba
5-10, 165, Senior
An All-District 4-2A Division I selection for the Armadillos at wide receiver, Mejia hauled in 17 receptions for 385 yards and three touchdowns in 2020. As a defensive back, he also had three interceptions and three deflections. He’ll get a chance to become a more featured part of the offense after losses at that position to graduation.

3. Dylan Ware, San Saba
6-7, 230, Junior
First-team All-District 4-2A Division I on both sides of the line as a sophomore, Ware will be a force for the Armadillos. He finished with 86 tackles and had six tackles for loss, two sacks, three hurries and a fumble recovery as San Saba advanced to the second round of the playoffs.
5. Jadeyn Bryant, Richland Springs
5-9, 160, Senior
Bryant was the All-West Texas Six-man Defensive Player of Year last season after the Coyotes made it to the 1A Division II title game. He finished with 102 tackles, 20 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, 7 forced fumbles, 13 fumble recoveries and 4 pass breakups. He also recorded a safety and scored three defensive TDs.

8. Jadeyn Bryant, Richland Springs
5-7, 155, Senior
Bryant earned his chops as a sophomore and junior, but now he’ll be calling the shots for the Class 1A Division II state finalist Richland Springs Coyotes. Owners of nine state championship trophies, the Coyotes hope to take advantage of Bryant’s speed to earn a 10th. In the spring, Bryant won a bronze (4x100 relay) and silver medal (300 hurdles) at the UIL State Track and Field meet.

8. Wesley Lackey, San Saba
5-10, 160, Senior
Lackey averaged 7.8 yards per carry last year for the Armadillos and was an effective counter-weapon to the bruising running style of Stone Sears. What he lacks in size, he makes up for in speed, as he helped the Dillos qualify to the 2A state track meet in the 4x200 relay and was one of the top sprinters in our area.
9. Zane Capps, Richland Springs
5-10, 150, Senior
Capps made significant contributions to Richland Springs' run to the state final. He had 421 rushing yards and 11 TDs, and 26 catches for 399 yards and eight TDs. On defense, he had 1.5 sacks, three interceptions, three deflections, three fumble recoveries and a forced fumble. He won two UIL statemeet bronze medals in sprinting events in the spring.
