My wife and I returned to our family home and found the yard in a total mess. While we were gone, we had a hailstorm that did a lot of damage. It completely stripped the trees of their leaves and broke a lot of limbs. Wow, what a mess! My wife, mainly, and me helping started working on the yard. You ought to see it now several weeks later. It took a lot of hard work and constant care on my wife’s part.
That beautiful yard and her hard work reminds me of something in the Bible. I think everyone wants a beautiful life, but we may go for it in different ways. Anyway we go without God and Jesus Christ will end in disaster, (Romans 5:8, Titus 3:5).
First, we need to come to God and realize we have a mess and ask Him to help us and actually put Him in charge, (Romans 12:1&2). Sin separates us from God and keeps us from having that life of peace and joy that God has for us, (Romans 3:23, 6:23), calling upon Jesus Christ and putting our faith in Him, reading our Bibles, prayer, fellowship with other Christians and yes, attending a local church, (2 Timothy 3:16, Philippians 4:6 & 7, Hebrews 10:24 &2 5, John 15:7).
God has done His part reaching down to us; now, we must do our part to receive His wonderful blessings, (John 3:16-21, Romans 8:32). See you in Church next Sunday.
