This Friday evening, August 6th, starting at 5:30 p.m., the San Saba All Sports Booster Club is hosting “Meet the Dillos” at the Civic Center in Mill Pond Park. These past three years, the Booster Club has sent request sheets to each coach asking what they need/want to help improve their program. This gives us a goal to strive for and with the help of the community, we have met those goals and added significant money to all San Saba athletic departments.
We will have a meal including fried catfish, hand cut fries, coleslaw, pinto beans and hushpuppies. Sonic donates the sweet tea and water to wash it all down, all for a $10 donation. You won’t be disappointed!
During the meal, we will have silent auctions and brand new Dillo apparel for sale. Also, you could buy a chance at winning a Yeti cooler donated by Arrowhead Bank. Chances will be $5 each.
Later on in the evening, we will introduce all coaches and fall sports teams including cross country and both JV and varsity football teams. Following performances by the Golden Armadillo Band and the Dillo cheerleaders, we will have a live auction that will include signed football jerseys, a special Lady Dillo basketball jersey, framed photos, a hand carved limestone rock shaped into an armadillo, hand made corn hole boards made from the old gym floor, and a locally hand made quilt made from a variety of Dillo spirit shirts.
