Last Sunday on my way to church, it was a cloudy day. But every now and then there was an opening, and you could look up and see into the beautiful, clear blue sky above.
Looking up into that clear blue sky reminded me of something in the Bible. Is there is a Heaven, and what does it say about it? The Bible from Genesis to Revelation says God cannot lie, (Matthew 24:35, Titus 1:2, 2 Timothy 3:16).
The Bible says that everything exists because God made it, (Genesis 1:1, Isaiah 42:5, Hebrews 1:10).
God lives or dwells there with His angles, (Matthew 6:9&10, Luke 2:15). It is a beautiful place, and no evil dwells there because God threw Satan and disobedient angels out a long time ago, (Luke 10:18).
Jesus has the keys to the kingdom of Heaven, (Matthew 16:19). No sin is allowed there, so that creates a problem for us because the Bible says we are all sinners and separated from God, (Romans 3:23 & 6:23). But God loves and wishes that none should perish, (John 3:16-20, Romans 5:8).
There is only one way we can have peace with God. That is by realizing what Jesus did for us, (1 Peter 3:18, Titus 3:5, John 1:12). We must confess our sins, put our faith and trust in Christ alone and what He did on the cross, (1 John 1:9 & 10, John 1:11 &12). See you in Church next Sunday.
