It was announced on Monday afternoon that the new Lady Dillos girls' basketball coach will be Chris Jost, according to Andreas Aguirre, San Saba High School Athletic Director.
Jost, who recently spent his last four seasons at the helm of the 6A program Del Rio High School, brings 420 career victories over a 23-year head coaching span to San Saba and will also be the school’s girls athletic coordinator. He has coached teams at District championship six times, has made it to the Area round of the playoffs 11 times, a six-time regional quarterfinalist, a twotime regional semifinalist, and made the 2017 state semifinals in 2017 while with 3A program Goliad High School.
In 2019, Jost had the honor of being selected as a coach for the West Texas Basketball Association All-Star Game. He also has 20 years of experience as a Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Camp of Champs counselor, coach, girls director, and executive coordinator.
Jost will take over for previous head coach Alicia Cummings, who accepted a position to take over the girls’ basketball team at Mason High School after longtime Cowgirls coach Jeff Guice took the head coaching position at 6A program Weatherford High School.
