San Saba Garden Club installs new officers at May 4th meeting

Nineteen club members and one guest enjoyed the beautiful spring wildflowers and pleasant breezes on Tuesday, May 4th, of the Furlan Ranch home near the Colorado River as the 2021-2022 San Saba Garden Club new officers were installed.

Two thousand twenty-one Co-Presidents Rhonda Killion and Mona McMahan joined hostess Dianna Furlan in welcoming the group to the outdoor event set among a large pecan orchard, a beautiful stone patio, lush flower beds filled with butterfly plants, blooming lavender, and attractive tables and furniture decorated with antique silver containers filled with dark purple irises and greenery.

Former SSGC president Gail Bruner installed the officers with gifts of flowers, challenging words, and encouragement for the continued success of the club in the coming year.

New officers are Debbie Shahan, President, Trish Fullerton, Vice President, Sherie Clarkson, Corresponding Secretary, Janice Bates, Recording Secretary, Marjean Henderson Alexander, Treasurer and Finance Chair, Dianna Furlan, Historian and Parliamentarian, and Anne Vincent, Reporter.

Refreshments of cookies, cake, and sandwiches were provided by the Entertainment Committee, Beth Griese, Leanne Pollock, Janice Bates, Sandy McCrary, and Anne Vincent. Welcome guest, Marti Free, a new SS resident recently arrived from Oregon, joined the group in enjoying the delicious repast and the beautiful weather!
