Shine for Advocacy to hold 2nd Annual Recognition Luncheon

Shine for Advocacy will hold its 2nd Annual Recognition Luncheon in April which is National Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month. This luncheon helps raise awareness of child abuse in our communities and benefits the Hill Country Children's Advocacy Center. It unites the voices of influence and advocacy awareness of the communities they serve to achieve the ultimate goal of safety, justice and healing for the children of the Hill Country.

Each year, Hill Country Children’s Advocacy Center is proud to acknowledge two distinguished individuals or organizations who have made a significant impact on the lives of abused children in our Community, and these recognitions will be made during the luncheon.

Evans Award

2020: Philip Thurman

2021: Joan and Kurt Wade

The Evan Award, named after our founder Yvonne Evans, is the “Making A Difference Community Service Award" developed to honor persons who are making significant contributions to HCCAC through their time, actions, talents and philanthropy. The honoree or organization selected serves as a role model for compassion and service and is striving to make our communities a better place.

MDT Award

2020: Alisa Rogers – CPI Supervisor – Child Protective Services

2021: Barry Greer – Detective Sergeant – Marble Falls Police Dept.

The MDT MVP is the “Multidisciplinary Team Service Award" developed to honor persons who are making significant contributions to HCCAC MDT through their time, actions and commitment. The honoree selected serves as a role model for safety, justice, and healing and is striving to make our communities a better place.

The luncheon will be held on April 8, 2021, from 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Van Brocklin Bistro located at 401 Buchanan Dr. in Burnett, Texas. Tickets can be purchased at hccac.org for $40.
