An update from Governor Abbott’s office designated San Saba County as one of five counties receiving a State Mobile Vaccination Team this coming week.

“Thank you Governor Abbott and Chief Nim Kidd for your time this week discussing our rural Texas Covid-19 challenges, and for responding with this crucial step to provide the underserved residents of House District 59 the vaccine access they need,” said District 59 Representative Shelby Slawson (R-Stephenville).

Earlier this week, data showed San Saba ranking 253 out of Texas’ 254 counties in number of citizens having been able to receive a first vaccine dose.

“Dispatching the mobile vaccination team to San Saba will make a tremendous difference in bringing rural Central Texans up to the same accessibility and vaccination rate as other parts of the state,” Slawson said.

Further information will be released locally in the coming days for San Saba and area residents.

“Your Capitol office is continually advocating for our people and working with all of our eight counties to address our challenges and find solutions together. We extend our gratitude to our local officials and first responders working endlessly to ensure the health and safety of all our Texans.

God bless you and God bless Texas.”
