I still remember it clearly. Going with my grandfather, a farmer, had a great influence on me because driving old tractors or feeding cows was always fun to me.
I studied farming and ranching in college, and after marrying the love of my life, we went to work on a farm and ranch. But no matter how good it was, at the end of the day I felt like something was missing.
We went into the ranching business with a partner. All was good for a long time, but eventually my partner and I got crossways big time. We did not go to Church, but I remember praying to God, "if you really exist, could you help me?" And a few days later, a preacher came out to my house to visit.
I realized I was separated from God because of things I had done, sins, (Romans 3:23, Isaiah 53:6). And those unforgiven sins keep us from God and lead to forever separation from Him, (Romans 6:23, Hebrews 9:27). But God loves us, (John 3:16-21, Romans 5:8).
It was not easy for me, but I got down on my knees and asked God to forgive me of my sins. And I called upon Jesus Christ to be my Lord and Savior, (John 1:12, Revelation 3:20, Acts 2:21).
Wow, what a joy and peace came into my life. This is what I had been missing, (John 5:24, Ephesians 2:8&9). See you in Church next Sunday.
